Slowly but steadily, Xiaomi is finally rolling out the big MIUI 12 update to more devices. After issuing stable updates to high-end devices, it’s time for the second batch of the MIUI 12 supported devices to enjoy it.
Xiaomi has rolled out a second MIUI 12 Global Stable update to Redmi Note 8 Pro users, after issuing the first in the first week of July. The MIUI 12 update (V12.0.2.0.QGGMIXM) appears to be 217MB in size and is only available to global users.
Several Redmi Note 8 Pro users haven’t been able to install the update manually, which means the update is most likely another beta update only available to Pilot testers.

For those who don’t know, Redmi Note 8 Pro is part of the MIUI 12 pilot program that Xiaomi launched in June. Other devices part of the beta program are the Redmi Note 7 Pro, Redmi Note 7, and Poco F1.
The excellent news is that MIUI beta testing on Redmi Note 8 Pro has been ongoing for a while now. Now that another beta update has landed, it indicates the device will finally be out of beta and start receiving the final stable update in the next few days.
While Xiaomi doesn’t allow non-beta testers to install the update, you can flash the update using a custom recovery. However, this is a difficult process and requires the bootloader to be unlocked.
In other news, Xiaomi recently closed the MIUI 12 beta testing application for owners of Mi 10. This means Xiaomi will issue the first MIUI 12 beta update for Mi 10 users in the next few days.
Xiaomi held the MIUI 12 global launch back in May. Here is a list of amazing features that you can expect in the MIUI 12 update. Some, like the new and revamped Control Center, can be installed on your Xiaomi device right now.
