Up until now, Xiaomi has issued MIUI 12 stable updates to several devices under the second batch of the MIUI 12 roll-out schedule — Mi 10, Poco F2 Pro, Poco X2 are among them.
Now, Xiaomi has released an MIUI 12 Global Stable update for Redmi 6 Pro users in India. The update is about 650 MB in size and, apparently, has been rolled out only to select users. This suggests the update is, in fact, an MIUI 12 Global Stable beta update. If you try installing it manually, you will likely receive an error indicating that the update is solely for Mi Pilot testers.

However, Redmi 6 Pro users don’t need to worry as this essentially means the final MIUI 12 Stable update isn’t far away.
For those who don’t know, Redmi 6 Pro is a lower budget smartphone from Xiaomi. The device was launched in 2018 and is priced at ₹ 6,499 (~$87). The device comes with a 5.84-inch FHD+ display and runs on Snapdragon 625 processor along with a 4000mAh battery.
Xiaomi first revealed the update back in May, and several high-end devices such as Mi 9T, Redmi K20/K20 Pro have already received the stable update. The significant upgrade comes with several exciting features, including Super Wallpaper, a design revamp with a new control center, UI changes to the Camera app, new privacy features, and many more.
Like Redmi 6 Pro, many Xiaomi devices are running MIUI 12 beta updates and are expected to get the final stable version starting in September. These include Redmi Note 9 Pro, Note 7 Pro, Redmi Note 7, and several more.
