Android 11 Smartphone List: When Will My Device Get Android 11?

After months of waiting, Android 11 is finally here!  It’s Android 11 Beta 1 for now, but the point is Android fans will shortly be running the latest Android update on their devices.

The latest Android version comes with several features including a new Conversation section within the notification shade, new permissions, in-build screen recorder, Facebook Messenger like chat heads aka Bubbles, revamped Power menu, and a lot more.

When will my device get Android 11?

Of course, many won’t get their hands on Android 11 right away, at least not for the first six to eight months, I presume. Only 8.2% Android users all over the world are running Android 10 as of April 2020, so you can imagine how long it will take before the latest Android version lands on your device.

We also can’t ignore the impact of COVID-19. Google had to cancel its yearly developer conference (Google I/O 2020) and even postpone the Android 11 beta event, which wouldn’t make sense now given the first beta is out.

If the Android maker itself is having a tough time delivering the Android 11 updates, there is no saying how long the smartphone manufacturers are going to take.

But before you freak out, know that there is a Google beta program in place, and it goes without saying devices that are eligible for Android 11 beta will be the first to receive the update (after Google Pixel users, of course).

The Android update situation overall has also improved, thanks to Google’s Project Treble program and more Android One devices in the smartphone market.

I can’t say the same for Chinese OEMs as they are known for taking their time. Their update process generally lasts for the entire year. To give you an idea, Oppo’s ColorOS 7 based on Android 10 is still in the roll-out stage.

Also, Huawei devices won’t be getting the Android 11 update due to Huawei’s US ban.

With these out of the way, let’s look at the Android 11 update mobile list —

The Google Pixel series will be the first to receive the Android 11 stable update. As of now, all Pixel devices are eligible to test the Android 11 first beta, except the Google Pixel 1. In other words, the original Pixel won’t be getting an Android update this time.
