Xiaomi Mi 9 and Mi 9 Pro users in China have received a stable version of MIUI 12, after weeks of beta testing.
According to IT House, a Chinese news outlet, the MIUI 12 China Stable update brings several new changes that have not been seen on the other MIUI 12 updates in other Xiaomi devices.
The MIUI 12 stable update (MIUI V12.0.1.0.QFACNXM) adds a new super wallpaper and a new visual design with a magazine-like layout on the home screen. The stable update adds “a physical animation engine and advanced technology architecture,” which makes noticeable changes to system animations.
Apart from that, there is a new horizontal and vertical switching animation, with the help of new “dynamic window technology.”
The update has landed on a handful of users of Mi 9, Mi 9 Pro, and Mi 9 Pro 5G. We haven’t been able to test the Xiaomi Mi 9 MIUI 112 update, so chances are there is more to it than what meets the eye.
We also don’t know about the new Super wallpaper that comes bundled in the MIUI 12 update. We will likely know more about it in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi outside China is yet to roll-out MIUI 12 Global stable update to the second batch of supported devices. However, the MIUI 12 Global Pilot program is underway and eligible users can apply by tomorrow.
In other news, Xiaomi has announced the Mi 10 series, and Poco F2 Pro will soon be getting MIUI 12 updates based on Android 11 Beta 1.
