Elon Musk’s Neuralink Plans To Stream Music Directly In Your Head

We have already learned that Elon Musk’s innovative startup Neuralink is working on creating a chip that can serve as a brain-computer interface. Now the SpaceX founder has revealed one more ability of the technology — and that is streaming music directly in your head.

This means that if Elon Musk’s Neuralink brain implant succeeds, earphones could become ancient history at one point in the future. Musk confirmed the news on Twitter when a computer scientist, Austin Howard, asked if Neuralink’s brain-implant will be able to stream music directly into one’s brain.

In a series of tweets, Howard asked, “can we listen to music directly from our [Neuralink brain] chips?” To which Elon replied with a simple, “Yes.”

In further tweets, Musk also said that Neuralink “could help control hormone levels and use them to our advantage (enhanced abilities and reasoning, anxiety relief, etc.).”

After its establishment in 2016, Neuralink has only held one major public conference about how the technology will work.

Last year at an event, Elon Musk further revealed that Neuralink was working on a “sewing machine-like” device that would embed the chip into the brain.

It is said that the brain-computer interface will help people suffering from brain diseases like Parkinson’s and numerous others.
