Earlier today, Apple announced that it is going to launch its online store in India on September 23, 2020. The online store will offer the full range of Apple products and services directly to customers all over the country.
So far, Apple has been selling its products through offline retailers or e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart. But from September 23, customers in India will be able to shop directly from Apple India’s official website.
Apple’s online store will also offer AppleCare+, which will extend the warranty on its new hardware products by up to two years.
The online store will also feature a trade-in program. Customers can return the previous iPhone model to get a discount on the purchase of a new one.
In the online store, customers can buy Macs with custom configuration. Advice and product guidance will be available for customers in two languages, English and Hindi.
Apple plans on offering financing options to its customers in India. It will also provide additional discounts on Apple products and accessories for students.
Starting next month, Apple will also let its customers check out free online sessions on music and photography from professional artists.
As per Apple, all orders will be shipped via BlueDart. Customers will receive their orders within 24 to 72 hours of placing the order with contactless delivery.
Because of the government rule that requires foreign companies to source 30% of their products locally, Apple Online Store could not launch earlier in India. Last year in August, the Indian government relaxed the rules, permitting Apple to operate an online store in the country.
