Tata Harrier Rival MG Hector Plus Launched: Here Are Prices And Specs

Tata Harrier and MG Hector are among the best SUVs in their segment. Additionally, MG Hector has been the greatest rival of Indian made SUV Tata Harrier. To spice-up this rivalry, Morris Garage launched MG Hector Plus today, which is an upgraded variant of the SUV.

MG Hector made its debut in 2019 in India, back then it was the first product from the British automaker. Since then, the company has launched an electric SUV MG ZS EV in the country. As of now, the automaker has added another product ‘MG Hector Plus’ to its portfolio.

MG Hector Plus is the third vehicle from the MG. The main changes to the new Hector Plus include an increment in the overall length of the SUV, new captain seats, redesigned headlights, and a few minor details.

Exterior: Refinement In looks And More Cabin Space

The most significant development in the new Hector Plus is the size of the SUV. The length of the new hector is increased by 65 mm, which is sufficient enough to add more luggage space and passenger seating capacity for one person. Unlike the previous model, the new MG Hector Plus provides a seating capacity of six passengers. However, the width and height of the Hector Plus remain the same.

The company has added redesigned LED DRLs that give it a refreshed and better look. Around the fog lamps, you can see a sufficient amount of chrome. Moreover, the front grille is pretty much the same with a big chrome finish MG logo at the center, under which mounts the front camera.

If you slide through the sides, the sleek and edgy lines give the new Hector Plus a sharp look. The company has also provided floating indicators and a camera with side mirrors.

On the rear, you can see new LED tail lamps and reflector lights along with the MG logo and “Internet Inside” badging.

Interior: Slight Improvement

MG has provided new captain seats on the second row for maximum comfort. Additionally, the company provides brown leather seat covers that enhance the premium look of the car. Other than that, there are not any major changes in the interior. Similar to Hector, there is a big 10.4 inch vertically mounted screen with all the internet-connected features.

Engine

The new Hector Plus is available with the same engine options as in the five-seater Hector. Current engine options include turbocharged 1.5-liter petrol, as well as 1.5-liter petrol with 48V mild hybrid setup and a 2.0-liter Diesel engine. The mild-hybrid and diesel engines are offered with manual transmission, whereas the petrol-only variant comes with a DCT.

MG has a very good reputation when it comes to providing features. The newest and most highlighted feature of the six-seater SUV is its foot-activated auto tailgate opening. With this feature, the trunk gate of the car opens as you swipe your leg under the rear bumper of SUV, provided the car is unlocked.

Price

As the automaker announced today on its YouTube channel, the price of MG Hector Plus starts at Rs 13.49 lakhs (ex-showroom) for petrol variants and Rs 14.44 lakh (ex-showroom) for diesel variants.
