Spellbreak has received its first major update called “Prologue: The Gathering Storm.” This update brings new content such as a game mode called “Clash” and its first-ever chapter called “Prologue.”
The new update is now available for players on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Nvidia’s cloud gaming service GeForce Now.
If you didn’t know, Spellbreak is a free-to-play battle royale game from Proletariat. What sets it apart from the competition is a unique combat system based on magic spells and mage classes.
The Latest Spellbreak Update Brings These Exciting Changes
The new Clash mode is a 9v9 team deathmatch, where the first team to reach a pre-defined score wins. The two sides consist of 3 squads each, and each squad has 3 players. The teams have to exile players in the opposition to win points and reach the target first.
An exiled player respawns in the match with full health, armor, 2 armor shards, and the original equipment intact. Whereas, a player who successfully exiles another gets to loot a copy of the exiled player’s equipment.
Moreover, the devs have announced that Clash, just like other modes, will regularly undergo changes based on player feedback. They have further stated in the release notes that Clash will replace the Duos mode in Spellbreak.
Also, Spellbreak has introduced a story-based chapter system with a free Prologue chapter. In the chapter system, players can gain Reputation by completing missions, which helps unlock rewards such as new outfits, Cloudbursts, Gold, etc.
The Prologue chapter will be followed by successive chapters that advance the game’s story.

Apart from these changes, the devs have revamped the in-game store and added Halloween-themed content. They have also improved matchmaking and fixed several bugs to provide a smoother gaming experience.
The latest update is sure to engage Spellbreak’s wildly growing community of mages as they continue to cast spells and use magical powers in this one-of-a-kind battle royale game.
