Recently, images of Tata Gravitas disguised in camouflage surfaced on the web. Tata Gravitas is basically a seven-seater variant of its current flagship SUV Tata Harrier.
This seven-seater SUV will be underpinned by the same platform as that of Harrier. However, the test mule suggests slight design modifications like a redesigned bumper to give it a distinguishing appeal.
Tata Gravitas was first showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. After that, the SUV was spotted being tested on multiple occasions. However, this time what we notice is a new set of alloy wheels. We are not sure if the same set of alloys will make it to the production models.
Apart from this, sources suggest that Tata Gravitas will share the engine as its sibling, Harrier. It will be powered by a BS6 compliant 2.0-liter diesel engine capable of producing 168 BHP and 350 Nm of peak torque. Similar to Harrier, it will be available with a manual as well as an automatic transmission.
When launched, Tata Gravitas will rival MG Hector Plus and Mahindra XUV 500.

Is Tata Motors Adopting MG’s Strategy?
All of us are well aware of the Tata Harrier and MG Hector rivalry. Both cars are quite impressive and have similar specs. In addition, both these SUVs were launched around the same time.
Tata is now planning to launch a bigger version of Tata Harrier, which sounds quite familiar to what MG did with Hector.
This Chinese-owned British automaker recently launched a seven-seater variant of MG Hector, which they call by adding a suffix Plus.
However, Tata Gravitas was planned long before the launch of MG Hector Plus and it could be a conincidence.
